Altitude with Attitude--December 13th, Hailey, Idaho


Join us as we celebrate hosting our First Annual Cheer and Dance Challenge. This is a huge event for our teams and for our valley. Squad Check in is at 10:15 and the event starts at 11:15. This is at the Community Campus in Hailey.

Our First Competition, November 15th in Boise!





Our teams did a fantastic job at their first competition at Wings Center in Boise on November 15th. The Dazzling Dancers took first place. The Silver Stars took first place. The Black Diamonds took second place by only one point. Hunter and Isabel took First place and Kami took 4th place. It was a great success for the Soldier Mountain All Stars!

SMAS New gym is now open!

Our New Gym located at 4031 Glenbrook Dr. is now open and celebrating all our new cheerleaders, dancers and gymnasts! What a blast! Cheers!

SMAS has our own Facility!


SMAS students will now practice out of their own facility! This is super exciting news! Our new facility is located at 4031 Glenbrook--South Unit, in Hailey. We are so excited about this new opportunity for our students! Our doors will be ready for a Grand Opening on September 1st! WELCOME! Aside from competitive cheer, we will now be offering classes of Performance/Intro to Cheer Classes, Boys Only Classes, High School Classes, Tumbling Classes, Dance Classes (hip-hop/jazz mix), Preschool Classes and Mommy and Me Classes. We have something for everyone! Check out our NEW fall schedule!

Meet the Staff of SMAS

Amanda Norton: Head Coach/Owner


Amanda Norton has been actively involved in cheerleading for 16 years and is the Owner and Head Coach of Soldier Mountain All Star Cheerleading. Amanda was a Competitive Cheerleader in High School on a Co-ed Squad in Salt Lake City that took 7th and 4th at UCA Nationals in Orlando, Florida. The following year her squad was 1 of 10 in the United States invited to the first UCA International Competition in Tokyo, Japan, and they took 3rd in the world. She also cheered for one year (Senior) at Wood River High School, in Hailey. After graduation, she was a UCA Staff Instructor--teaching cheer summer camps to High School Cheerleaders. She then continued her love for cheerleading on the Varsity Cheer Squad at the University of Idaho for three years, until she graduated early with a BA degree in Elementary Education in 1998. She then coached High School Cheerleading at Camas County High School for Six years. She then wanted to spread her love for the sport of Cheerleading at a more Competitive Level. She also longed to teach a wider age range of kids, so she started the Soldier Mountain All Stars Competitive Cheer Program (ages 3-18), five years ago. SMAS has expanded over the last two years and is now Spirit n' Motion Athletic School home of the Soldier Mountain All Star Cheerleaders.This is Amanda’s dream job as she loves teaching kids and is passionate about cheerleading, gymnastics, and dance. She is a mom of two children who are also cheerleaders and her best fans. She has a very supportive high school sweetheart/husband who was also a cheerleader on her Co-Ed squads in high school and college. She is USASF certified, AACCA certified, and USA Gymnastics Certified, with all coaching/safety certified credentials.


Heath Norton: Assistant Cheer Coach/Tumbling Coach/Co-Owner

Heath has an extensive background in cheerleading and coaching. He was was a Competitive Cheerleader in High School on a Co-ed Squad in Salt Lake City that took 7th and 4th at UCA Nationals in Orlando, Florida. The following year his squad was 1 of 10 in the United States invited to the first UCA International Competition in Tokyo, Japan, and they took 3rd in the world. After graduation, he was a UCA Staff Instructor--teaching cheer summer camps to High School Cheerleaders for the following 2 years. He was assistant coach with Amanda when she coached Camas County High School, and has been helping will SMAS on an off for a few years. We are excited to have him with us as a cheer coach for Black Diamonds, Boys classes, and all of our tumbling classes. Heath is also USASF Certified.

Kassidy Brice: Head Dance Instructor/Assistant Cheer/Tumbling Coach

Kassidy comes to SMAS packed full of experience for your children! Her education comes from the University of Northern Colorado and Indianapolis, Indiana, and years of training and teaching. She has been dancing since she was 3, and has never stopped. A few of her teachers/mentors have veen Gus Giodano, Bruce Stagman, Judy Rue, David Norwood, Jor Tremain and Joel Rumminer. She traveled with the Joel Rumminers Dance Caravan and performed in dance production shows for Celebrity Cruise line on their ship Milennium. She has extensive experience teaching ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, pointe, modern dance and gymnastics--as well as a huge choreography background. She has choreographed many competitions and taken many titles from First Place in Choreography and Dance at Regional and National Competition levels. We are extremely thrilled to have her on our team! She is amazing!

Julie Brown: Assistant Cheer Coach/Tumbling Coach

Julie has an extensive background as a competitive gymnast and coach. She was a competitive gymnast from the age of 5-18. She competed club gymnastics and then for her high school. She taught gymnastics for the YMCA. She taught classes for the Marine Corp, for their children. She was a cheerleader in Junior high and High school. Julie is a fantastic coach with SMAS , and is also USASF Certified.

Alyssa Obland: Preschool/Green Emeralds Assistant Coach

Alyssa has extensive background in cheerleading, and mascot in high school, as well as dance and gymnastics growing up. She is loves working with our young kids, and brings much spirit and enthusiasm to our programs!

Brianna Hoskinson: Competitive Cheer Junior Instructor

Brianna has been a competitive cheerleader since she was in Junior High. She just recently finished competiting on a level 4 Senior Team. She brings much expertise and experience to our Soldier Mountain All Stars, and is a great junior instructor!

Hank Blunt: Competitive Cheer/Tumbling Junior Instructor

Hank comes to us with an extensive background in gymnastics, dance and cheer. We are very excited to have him on our team.

Kathleen Wilson: Administrative Assistant

Kathleen is our new book keeper, as well as most of the adminstration duties for SMAS. Please contact her at smascheer2@yahoo.com for any questions that you may have for SMAS. she is an invaluable asset to our team.

Urusula Hulbert: SMAS Booster President

Ursula has been involved with SMAS since the beginning. She has recently taken over all the Booster responsibilities coordinating all fundraisers, camps, uniforms, competitions and parents. She holds a huge amount of responsibilty for the success of SMAS. She is an amazing asset to our organization. We are very grateful to have Ursula working with us!
